Harworth Group has appointed Peter Henry to the newly created role of director of sustainability.
He will report to CEO Lynda Shillaw and will be a member of the land and property regeneration fund’s investment committee. He Harworth in 2012 and was previously regional director for the Yorkshire & Central region.
In his new role, Henry will lead the development and implementation of Harworth’s ESG programme, with an initial focus on embedding sustainable development principles into Harworth’s regeneration projects and leading on the formation of the company’s net zero carbon pathway.
Earlier this year, Harworth appointed Ed Catchpole and Chris Davidson as Joint Regional Directors for Yorkshire & Central, succeeding Peter. Ed and Chris joined Harworth in 2017 and 2013 respectively, and will continue to work with the team to deliver the Company’s growth strategy across the region.
Savills Earth has appointed Georgios Askounis as associate director of sustainable design.
Askounis joins from consultants KLH Sustainability, where he was an associate director. He has more than 12 years’ experience working in passive design, whole life net zero, embodied carbon, the circular economy and sustainable construction.
He will be responsible for developing and implementing net zero and wider sustainability strategies in buildings and providing sustainability advice and analysis, with a focus on the early stages of projects.
Savills recently appointed planning veteran David Jackson as head of its sustainability and energy arm, and Marylis Ramos as a director.
