Patrizia rejigs ESG team after Elshout departure

14th June 2024

Patrizia has announced a reshuffle of its ESG team, after head of sustainability and impact investing Mathieu Elshout left to join Aware Super.

The German real estate investment manager has promoted Edward Pugh (above, r) to the role of head of sustainability, while Mads Rude (l), who runs Patrizia’s multi-manager arm, will have overall responsibility for impact investing, supported by Marleen-Bikker-Bekkers (c) who is fund manager of impact fund Patrizia Sustainable Communities.

Pugh has been with Patrizia since 2021, when he joined from real estate sustainability firm Evora. Elshout has joined Australian superannuation fund Aware Super to lead its European property business.

Mahdi Mokrane, head of global investment strategy, research and investment solutions at Patrizia, said: “We wish Mathieu all the best as we build on his excellent work ensuring sustainability remains a key enabler for creating and protecting value for Patrizia’s investors and broader stakeholders in a world deeply in transition. With Mads and Edward, we are thrilled to have two exceptional industry professionals driving the future growth of our impact investing platform as we look to launch further vehicles.”
